Friends in Recovery has a meeting every Friday at St Joe’s Hospital in the St Joe’s room by the cafeteria at 7:30.  We are reaching out to the Friends in Recovery network to say come back, we are still here. There have been 3 specific challenges to this ongoing meeting that we have overcome.

The first challenge has been with staff changes in the treatment program at St Joe’s and our opportunity to bring the message both upstairs to treatment and within the meeting. We now have re-established that connection and welcome that opportunity.

The second challenge has been lack of communication with the hospital. That channel of communication has been restored and our meetings are both on the hospital and security calendars.

The third and most important challenge has been accessing the building to get to the meeting. That has been happily rectified with communication and calendar access. Truly all you have to do if the entry door is locked is buzz security and tell them you are here for the meeting in the St Joe’s room. St Joe’s truly wants us there.
